Story Zapp! is made by one parent, for families. This page says plainly what it collects and why. Last updated 1 November 2026.
The waitlist
When you join the waitlist, I keep your email and your answers about your TV brand and system. I use them to pick families, to send you a setup code, and to reply to you. They are never shared or sold, and there are no trackers or ads on this site.
The app on your TV
- To write, draw and voice each story, the app sends the story's words to Anthropic (writing), Google (pictures) and ElevenLabs (voices). Your child's name is replaced before anything is sent.
- When your child says an idea, the TV's own speech service turns it into words. That is usually Google's speech recognition, built into the TV. The app keeps no recordings.
- A TV set up with a code sends technical reports, linked to your TV's setup code: which AI service was called, how long it took, and the TV model. Never names, stories or what your child said. They help me fix problems.
- If you share a finished story, anyone with its link can see it, including the first name shown as its author. The links can't be guessed and are not listed anywhere.
